Remote
Remote productions are one of our most advanced production capabilities and play a central role for “0221-Reality”. We are capable of completely remotely managing reality TV productions from our state-of-the-art remote control rooms in Cologne. This model is particularly attractive as it allows various production tasks to be carried out remotely as needed. Initially, loggers can perform their tasks remotely. In a next step, editors can be involved, who can also work from any location. Eventually, it is possible to progressively shift more positions and ultimately the entire production to remote. This flexible approach offers excellent adaptability.

Remote productions significantly reduce the need for travel, equipment transport and additional on-site infrastructure. Fewer transports and less logistical effort lead to lower resource consumption.
This enables productions to be carried out in a more resource-efficient way without adding complexity to the production process. Especially for longer reality shoots or formats with many participants, this can make a noticeable contribution to more sustainable production practices.
Produce more cost-efficiently – saving time, costs and resources
Remote productions are one of our most advanced production approaches and play a central role in “0221-Reality”. We are able to control reality TV productions completely remotely from our state-of-the-art remote control rooms in Cologne.
However, productions do not need to be fully remote from the start. Many projects begin as hybrid setups, where certain production tasks are controlled centrally from Cologne while others still take place on site.
This model is particularly attractive as it allows specific production tasks to be carried out remotely depending on the project’s needs. For example, loggers can begin working remotely, followed by editors who can also operate remotely.
Finally, additional positions can be integrated step by step until the entire production can be managed remotely if required.

Reality Production in a Boarding School
Insights into a Unique Long-Term Documentary Reality Format on German Television
This time, our journey took us to a boarding school to create a reality format for our client, sagamedia. With our extensive experience, modern technical equipment, and flexibility, we were successful here as well.
For this production, we connected 35 PTZ cameras, 7 GoPros, 20 wireless audio links, and three ENG teams to meet the diverse requirements of a reality TV format. Our special 0221 Reality Software played a crucial role, enabling us to design the production efficiently and flexibly. The software offers anytime and remote access to streams and iso-feeds, efficient logging and management of metadata, as well as seamless integration into post-production.
The combination of our technical equipment and the 0221 Reality Software allowed us to manage unplanned situations confidently, even at short notice. We were able to provide video sources in real-time over the internet to ensure that all key personnel were always informed and involved. Additionally, our technology offers the capability to conduct entire productions remotely, providing extra flexibility and efficiency.
We used our flight cases to securely and space-efficiently transport the heart of our production – the control room. These robust transport solutions are an essential part of our logistics, allowing us to set up the control room anywhere.
It was particularly important to work discreetly and unobtrusively to avoid disturbing everyday life in the boarding school. With our equipment and the support of our dedicated team, we were able to ensure this and deliver a high-quality product.
By successfully implementing this project, we have once again proven that we are capable of delivering high-quality reality productions even under the most demanding conditions. We look forward to further demonstrating our innovative solutions and commitment to broadcasting in future projects.
